Lifehack: Chilli hot foods

Friday 24 October 2008, 5.09am HKT

Drink milk with chilli hot foods. Do not drink beer or even water. The dominant  protein in milk (casein) strips away capsaicin, which is the molecule found in chillies and peppers and responsible for the burning hot sensation in your mouth and nose.

If no milk, beer or water is available, eating some granulated sugar will help relieve the fiery sensation.
