Black Cat Appreciation Day

Wednesday 17 August 2011, 12.01am HKT

TODAY the 17th of August is Black Cat Appreciation Day.

For the love of black cats.

To bring awareness the the world about the joy of living with a black cat.

To dispel superstitions about black cats based on brain-damaged myths that only human beings could believe in.

To help black cats across the world to get out of shelters alive.

Fact: Black cats are frequently the last to be adopted, and are often put to sleep.

Fact: The truth is, black cats are smart, playful, loving and sometimes even appear like miniature panthers with their shiny black coats.

Save a life and get a wonderful friend — adopt a black cat!!!

Love cats? Serving suggestion.

Well, tomorrow (18 August) is Bad Poetry Day — but that’s another story.

  1. I loved this! I’m going to share it with my sister because she writes a blog about animals and also just got a black cat!

If you celebrate bad poetry, I’ll curse your black cats.

  3. Yep, my sister linked back to you! Any cat post is a good post! As soon as I sent her the link she was like “I have to post this on my blog!”

  4. After reading your post I had to post my own much appreciated black cat online for everyone to appreciate as well.
