Total semi-recall

Friday 6 January 2012, 2.48am HKT

FRIEND OF MINE earlier this evening switched on my unswitchonable ‘idea’ lightbulb above my brainbox.

“You got all these marvellous stories from your past … about these people and events that all the rest have written about — except you. They’re all gonna be lost if you don’t try to write them down.” — Friend

Man’s got a point.

He also reckons some of my stories will set the record straight for some events that other people have written about with no direct knowledge or experience, or even awareness.

That might possibly be a half-point there, I think.

So on and off for the rest of this year, I’ll be putting out itsy-bitsy notes about the various sane and insane people, events and whatnot from my past (as well as from my family’s past) before my long living in Hong Kong makes me too demented to do it.

Fair warning, thought, they won’t be in chronological order. It comes when it comes.

The first one will come in a few hours’ time.
