Get-well-soon kitteh
Sunday 11 November 2012, 4.58am HKT
4.23am local time, 23°C (73°F), becoming breezy and overcast
NO improvement to my back injury. Haven’t slept a wink in four days/nights. Can’t bend or flex on my left side, or else a sharp pain comes on.
A friend of mine gave me this to get well soon—
Kind of looks like me right now
I love it when friends rub it in. Makes it so much more ‘alive.’
Let’s see what my Injury and Illness Scorecard says:—
- infantile pulmonary oedema for 2 months when one year old
- nasal infection 2 days after coming back on holiday to breathe Hong Kong air when four years old
- tip of finger on right hand sliced open by door by some random idiot and stitched back together when aged seven years old
- six months in wheelchair from busted kneecaps (both) when 14 years old
- got mildly infected with tuberculosis riding the London Underground in 2006
- four months in a neck brace after being rammed by a pedestrian at a traffic crossing in Hong Kong in 2007
- spent 37 months in crutches from a busted pelvis from being pushed by an office lady during rush hour in 2007
- overcame bronchitis caused by humid cold air in Hong Kong in 2011
- current (2012) back injury from being rammed by little old lady
All that not from doing my usual dangerous stuff like —
- motorcycling
- climbing up and down printing presses
- telling off investment bankers or corporate lawyers how to do their jobs
- trying to break up Saturday night pub square-ups (USA: square-offs) between alcohol fuelled-up bozos fighting over some over-imaginative but under-promiscuous fat cosplay hag with no underwear (eeew!)…
I’m dreading what will make my scorecard a Perfect Ten.
