Shutting off comments after 30 days
Saturday 16 April 2016, 7.22am HKT
FROM THE MANAGEMENT
All comments are now closed after 30 days of posting.
This is to control spam and general prevention of identity theft through hacking from the comment areas and meta links (like the admin log-on links).
The main aim for me is to control the trolling comments on old posts and other troublemaking. We all have 24 hours in the day; the rest is up to us.
This doesn’t affect upvoting and likes, both of which remain fully functional.
To secure your WordPress.com site:—
- Go to your Admin Dashboard
- On lefthand menu, click Settings > Discussion
- In “Other comment settings,” tick “Automatically close comments on articles older than [30] days“
- Scroll down and click “Save changes” button
- Done!
I highly recommend you do the same for your site now.

I discovered this only yesterday (St Swithin’s Day) and was going to put this up:—
Sorry, I meant this:—
