What not to do in women’s presence

Monday 25 October 2010, 8.36am HKT

If you’re an asshole, you’ll get a specific kind of immature women rather easily.

And miss out on the most wonderful specimens.

Guy: “I too find myself to be in quite a similar situation. For me, it isn’t that I’m an asshole — because I’m not — but it’s actually because I’m a bit over-analytical. I often point out the flaws in what she’s doing, merely with the intention of helping her become more efficient in what she’s doing — and don’t get me wrong, I’m talking about really unimportant things here, just small mundane tasks — and it just really perturbs them. Maybe you’re doing the same thing?”

Other Guy: “No, not really. The only time I really do that is when they ask for help. Kinda like, ‘Here’s what you do …’.”

Who and what are you?

Sunday 28 February 2010, 7.56am HKT

A 26-year-old Chinese lady tells it her way about herself in a nutshell:

“… act on impulse is totally me, yet am rated too rational most of the time.”

On what’s she doing with her life:

“A little bit too much at any single time, absolutely nothing at a particular time.”

Her talents?

“Having split personalities – being a major slacker and the most competitive person ever. strong emotions against completely rational analytical thinking most of the time. Co-existence of all the extremes.”

And she spends a lot of time thinking about:

“A lot of things, depends on the moment really.”

Aren’t we all a bit like that?

And the best line of all about the first things she thinks others usually notice about her:

“My existence as a whole, you can’t take things apart.”
